Cookie Policy
Last updated: 29 October 2026.
WHAT COOKIES ARE
Cookies are small files that a website stores in the visitor’s browser. They are used, for example, to remember the chosen language or to count visits. The website also uses the browser’s local and session storage, which work in the same way and follow the same rules. On this page, «cookies» covers all three.
WHO IS RESPONSIBLE
The europemarathon.eu website belongs to GSX Portugal, Unipessoal, Lda., owner of the GlobalSport brand, company number (NIPC) 514 779 012. The contact for these matters is [email protected].
HOW THE CHOICE WORKS
On the first visit a notice appears that lets the visitor accept all, reject all or choose by category, with the same effort for each option. Necessary cookies always work, because without them the website cannot work as requested. Analytics and advertising cookies are only stored after the visitor accepts them. The choice, whether accepting or rejecting, is kept for 6 months, after which the notice appears again.
WHAT LOADS BEFORE THE CHOICE
Before any choice the website does not store analytics or advertising cookies. Some external services still load and receive the IP address and technical browser data:
- Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, in advanced consent mode. They load before the choice without storing cookies. Until consent is given, or if the visitor rejects, they send Google only cookieless signals, which Google uses to estimate aggregate statistics.
- Google reCAPTCHA, which protects the forms and only loads when the visitor starts filling in a form. In the test of 29 October 2026 it did not store cookies.
YouTube videos do not load before the choice. A notice appears in place of each video, and the video only loads if the visitor accepts the Advertising category or clicks «Watch the video». In that case YouTube may store the cookies listed in the Advertising table.
The Ride with GPS maps, on the route pages, do not load before a click either. A notice appears in place of each map, and the maps only load if the visitor clicks «Show the maps». At that moment Ride with GPS, in the United States, receives the IP address and technical browser data and also loads Adobe typefaces. In the test of 29 October 2026 it did not store cookies.
The website’s typefaces are served by the website itself, not by Google’s servers.
