Run Kids Aveiro 2026

Run Kids Aveiro 2026 is an initiative integrated into the European Marathon in partnership between the Municipality
of Aveiro and Globalsport, aimed at promoting sports, healthy socializing and the active participation
of students from schools in the municipality of Aveiro. The race will take place on safe urban routes,
with departure and arrival at Cais da Fonte Nova, on April 25, 2026, at 11am.

Participation is organized by age group, ensuring fairness, safety and suitability for the
development of young athletes.

Age groups (Male and Female)

Under-10 – Benjamins A (M/F)

Ages: 6 to 9
Born: 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020
Course: Short lap – 500 m

U-12 – Benjamins B (M/F)

Ages: 10 and 11
Born: 2015, 2016
Course: Short lap – 500 m

Under-14 – Children (M/F)

Ages: 12 and 13
Born: 2013, 2014
Course: Long lap – 1000 m

Under-16 – Beginners (M/F)

Ages: 14 and 15
Born: 2011, 2012
Course: Long lap – 1000 m

Under-18 – Youth (M/F)

Ages: 16 and 17
Born: 2009, 2010
Course: Long lap – 1000 m

Routes and distances

The official routes are defined by the organization and are shown on the Run Kids map
Aveiro 2026.

Short Lap – 500 m (M/F)

Aimed at the U10 and U12 age groups
Simple, safe urban route suitable for younger ages

Long Tour – 1000 m (M/F)

Aimed at the U14, U16 and U18 age groups
Longer urban course, allowing for higher paces and greater challenges.

Rules of Participation

• Registration is compulsory.
• The competition is open to students from schools in the municipality of Aveiro.
• On the day of the race, registered athletes must check in at the Congress Center.
• Sorting will take place in the call chamber.
• Each participant must compete in the class corresponding to their year of birth.
• The races are separated into male and female.
• Security is provided by staff, municipal police and volunteers along the entire route.
• The race is of a recreational nature and there may or may not be a classification, depending on the decision of the organization.
• Accompaniment by teachers or guardians is recommended.
• All athletes will be entitled to a participation medal.

Final Provisions

Any omitted cases will be resolved by the organization of the European Marathon – Aveiro – Globalsport and
by the Municipality of Aveiro, always guaranteeing the safety, inclusion and well-being of participants from the
school community.
